Serve One. Attend One.
We exist to connect people to Jesus for life change. This is our mission and process for discipleship. Out of this, gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church. It seeks to extend God’s grace and mercy to others for His glory and not our own. We serve as an expression of love and stewardship of grace, marked by humility, generosity and hospitality. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait at Southbridge is through volunteer opportunities.
Bridge Kids (birth-5th grade)
Volunteers in Bridge Kids minister to our newborn - 5th graders during weekend worship services through singing with the children, telling stories and teaching the truth of God's Word. They check in kids, lead classrooms, provide assistance to classroom teachers in a rotation each Sunday.
Students (6-12th grade)
Volunteers in our High School and Junior High ministries get the opportunity to build and foster relationships with students, ministering to them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship. They check in students, greet students, mentor students, set up events, lead small groups and sing or play on the worship team.
Volunteers on our First Impressions team are some of the first people our attendees come in contact with at weekend services. They serve our church every week, greeting people before services, helping people find seats, helping to park cars, drive shuttles, and sometimes serve with communion.
Volunteers on the Tech Team keep things running smoothly during our weekend services and at events so that our attendees have a great experience meeting with the Lord and the church. They run the lighting and sound booth during services, set up and tear down for services and events, and put up slides.
Volunteers in Southbridge Music use their gifts and abilities to minister to the church body through the expression of worship to the Lord through music, Scripture, and liturgy. They lead worship at weekend services and other ministries and events throughout the week and sing or play an instrument in the worship band.
Outreach & Missions
Volunteers on our Outreach and Missions team have a passion for serving those outside the walls of our church, reaching into the community, and beyond. This team focuses on strategic ministry partnersips both locally and globally, seeking to extend God’s grace and mercy to others for His glory and not our own.
Volunteers on our Office Support team serve the church behind the scenes in the areas of administration. They collect the offering after weekend worship services or they assist with counting the offering on Monday mornings. They also help with various tasks around the church office each week, and assist with weekly communication to our church body.
Volunteers on our Creative team help us testify to who God is, what He has done, and what He is doing in Christ through various forms of art and communication. These volunteers serve the church by creating graphics, video stories and resources, and proclaim the gospel through photography, videography, writing, editing and art.
Volunteers on our Prayer team are committed to praying for specific needs, specific people, and over the weekend services and other meetings for our church family.
Spiritual Gifts Assessment
AssessMe is a free online assessment to empower people and ministries to better understand God’s unique design for them. By doing this, we can more effectively accomplish the mission we were created for. The assessment is divided into three sections and takes 30-40 minutes to complete.
