Our Values

Value...to regard highly; esteem

Our primary value is life change. We believe God wants to see the lives of those in the Raleigh-Durham area transformed by Jesus Christ. We believe the following values demonstrate this kind of life change.

Worship

True worship begins when a person places their faith in the person of Jesus Christ, believing in His death and resurrection as sufficient payment for their sin. True worship continues as a lifestyle of responding to God's revelation of Himself with mind and heart in ways that declare the greatness of who He is.

Community

Genuine biblical community means living in caring relationships that are guided by biblical truth and grounded in spiritual accountability. We know that real and lasting life changes -- spiritual transformation -- occur in the unity and diversity of authentic relationships.

Growth

Spiritual growth means that over time we are becoming, thinking, and acting more and more like Jesus. It is progressively moving toward spiritual maturity. A commitment to growth is not easy because growth means change, and change is difficult.

Service

Jesus demonstrated that the most influential life is a life of sacrificial service. In the words of Mark's gospel, Jesus did not come to be served but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many. Likewise, we believe that we will influence the world for Christ when, resting in and motivated by His great love for us, we extend that love in acts of service to others.

Generosity

Every act of God is an act of lavish generosity. He gives freely, fully, graciously, and without measure. He is a giver, not a taker. And for us, generosity means giving away the truth, time, talent, and treasure entrusted to us.
